No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. We receive what you send us through the enquiry form, plus the technical data any web server records, such as your IP address. We use the form only to reply to you.

01Who we are

This website is run by Essentials, a development design studio in Riga, Latvia. Essentials is the controller of the personal data described on this page:

SIA “essentials”, reg. No. 40203461249, Saulkrastu iela 3-1, Piņķi, Babītes pagasts, Mārupes novads, LV-2107, Latvia

For any question about your data, write to es@essentials.lv.

This policy covers this website only. Websites we build for developers’ projects have their own privacy policies, set by those developers.

02The enquiry form

When you send the form, we receive:

  • your name and email (required);
  • your company, the stage of your project, a link to your files and your message, if you fill them in;
  • the language of the page and the time of sending.

We use this only to reply to you and to discuss your project. The form arrives as an email in our studio mailbox, es@essentials.lv; the website itself does not keep it in a database. If you share a link to files, we open it only to review your project, and the files stay where you put them.

Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a possible contract (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our work (Art. 6(1)(f)). Giving us your name and email is voluntary, but without them we cannot reply. We make no automated decisions about you and do no profiling.

03Spam protection and server logs

To keep the form free of spam, the server checks that the form is not sent too often from your IP address. This happens in the server’s memory only: the counter is cleared after 10 minutes or when the server restarts. The form also runs simple checks against bots that use no other data about you.

Like any web server, ours records each request: IP address, time, page address, browser and the page you came from. These access logs are kept for up to 14 days. The application log notes each sent enquiry with its IP address; if an email cannot be delivered, the whole enquiry is written to this log so that it is not lost. Application logs are rotated and overwritten automatically within a few weeks.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and working (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

04Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising tools. The language you choose is part of the page address, not a cookie. The only thing kept in your browser is the scroll position, so that Back returns you to the same place; it lives in session storage and disappears when you close the tab. That is why there is no cookie banner.

05Other services

  • Hosting. The website runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany), in its data centre in Finland, inside the EU.
  • Email. Enquiries are sent and stored through the Private Email service of Namecheap, Inc. (USA).
  • Fonts are served from our own server. Your browser does not contact Google or any other font service.
  • Video. Project films and loops are served from our own server, like the rest of the site. A full film starts loading only when you press play; no third-party video player is used.
  • Links to Instagram and other websites take you off this site; their own policies apply there.

Hetzner and Namecheap process data for us as our processors. We do not sell personal data and do not pass it to anyone for their own purposes.

Namecheap is a US company, so your data may be processed outside the EU/EEA. Such transfers rely on the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

06How long we keep data

  • Enquiry emails: as long as we need them for our correspondence and for any project that follows from it.
  • Access logs: up to 14 days.
  • Application logs: rotated and overwritten automatically within a few weeks.
  • Spam-limit counters: up to 10 minutes, in memory only.

07Your rights

As a data subject, you can ask us to:

  • show you the data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • restrict its use or object to it;
  • give it to you in a portable format.

Write to es@essentials.lv. We reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address you used, so that your data does not reach someone else.

If you believe we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Data State Inspectorate of Latvia, Datu valsts inspekcija (opens in a new tab), or to the data protection authority in your EU country.

08Changes to this policy

When the website starts handling data differently, we update this page and the date at the top.
